More Winter Birding in Bonn

10,000 Birds

Most notably, a group of five Greater Scaups was present in one of the large ponds in the Rheinaue urban park, where they were present for a while. Famous Flamingos

10,000 Birds

I have noticed that my biologist friends are much more conscientious about counting birds present, but also come up with much larger numbers than I do. As they flew, a large group of Avocets took flight around them. Of course, when a group sees 109 species, there are many highlights for the day.

CBC in Paradise

10,000 Birds

I’ve been leading a small but faithful group on Trinidad for several years to count birds within a livestock farm that is generally restricted to the public (you can read about some of those shenanigans here ); this was the first time I was to embark on a CBC on the smaller island of Tobago. Anyway, I digress. Mangrove Cuckoo.
