Another Fake Animal Welfare Group

Critter News

I was browsing for some quotes when I came across this group - The National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA). Our members are pet owners, dog and cat clubs, obedience clubs and rescue groups as well as breeders, trainers, veterinarians, research scientists, farmers, fishermen, hunters and wildlife biologists.

It was a tree planting event organised by a local NGO, the Supernatural, and groups of volunteers – both adults and kids – were visiting me by the bird tower. (It It would have been way easier if I had envisioned four totally different lectures, one for each group.).

Scientist Advocacy Group Oppose Some Animal Testing

Critter News

Here's a group I've never heard of. I found a link to them on ANIMAL's blog (ANIMAL is a Portuguese animal rights group.) These scientists are NOT an animal rights group. They do support some animal-based studies (which sucks); HOWEVER, they acknowledge that much animal research is useless. Remember animal research doesn't just create reports, it creates CAREERS as well.) I'll let them describe their positions in their own words.

Four Groups of Neotropical Birds that may Challenge your ID Skills

Some bird groups take more to learn than others. Challenging groups of birds are those with very similar species occurring in one locality. For instance gulls are one of the most challenging groups, but one can have study looks of stationary birds through a spotting scope. No doubt that one of the fun parts of birding is being able to identify birds in the field. Getting to a point where one is comfortable identifying birds takes time and dedication.

Thanks, once again, to James LaVeck and Jenny Stein of Tribe of Heart for kindly and carefully bringing attention to what should be a stunningly-obvious moment of hypocrisy by groups that exist to advocate for and save animals. Also, because this is a community, you can choose to spend your time lobbying for the group you would support.
