Food We had breakfast in the hotel (tropical fruit, omelette, natural juices and Colombian coffee), and almost all other meals in a small, family run Moro’s Restaurant, fully booked for our group, so in the times of Covid we enjoyed a certain level of isolation.

Some time ago a neighborhood stray cat came to the yard to have her kittens. This little mama cat was super smart and found her way into the hot tub, and here are her little kittens snuggled up in a flower pot. We tried to find a rescue group to take the little family so they could hopefully find a loving home.

Large Woodshrikes are neither members of the shrike family, nor large (MacKinnon: “smallish grey and white”), nor made of wood. I have not verified this myself though. They are part of a family of New World Quail which includes Gambel’s, Mountain, Scaled and Montezuma Quail, as well as the Northern Bobwhite.
