On Objections to Slaughterhouses Not Sandwich Shops

The inaugural winner would be John Carbonaro, who found an article called " Slaughterhouse in Buffalo Wins Zoning Approval." Briefly: Zoning board in Buffalo unanimously approved plans for a slaughterhouse (as in, a place where chickens, goats, lambs and calves will be killed and chopped up). I think I'm going to start a contest for the most absurd/ironic/bizarre sentence to come out of the mouth of a human each week.
New Book Shows Mark Twain an Early Advocate Against Animal Cruelty

Twain wrote a searing account of an English earl’s behavior on a buffalo hunt (in “Man’s Place in the Animal World”) and wrote an impassioned anti-bullfighting novella (A Horse’s Tale). A new book by author and Stanford professor Shelly Fisher Fishkin reveals that Mark Twain was an early advocate against animal cruelty. Called Mark Twain's Book of Animals , the book contains a number of his writing about animals.
