10,000 Birds

2 Horned Puffin – Fratercula corniculata On my trip to Alaska, and the beautiful island of Kodiak to photograph the grizzly bears, my one wish was to track down and photograph the Puffins. As the year begins to wind down, I have taken to a bit of reminiscing. From a professional stand point, this has been an outstanding twelve months. I am not sure I can call it the “Best Year Ever” but it certainly is worth some recognition.

As you read this, I am riding my trusty Grizzly Bear through the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park, helping my colleague Seagull Steve find some new birds. Birding by bear is by far the best way to view the park, although it seems to terrify the hoofed animals. Quiz 3. Good day to you, my fine fellow birders. How is your August progressing?

And it’s a wrap….

10,000 Birds

While in Kodiak Alaska, I did get a few very nice Kodiak Grizzly Bear shots. This large bear was chasing salmon, and paid me little or no attention. And so, here it is, the last story that I will be posting for 2016. I am scheduling this for next week at my regular time, as my wife and I will take Casa Paquito, our Shasta trailer and travel out to the remote desert area of the Baja for the Christmas to New Years vacation week.
