Why are chimpanzees catching SIV from other monkey prey they eat?

question is maybe a bit to broad, but what i want to know is, why would an animal species continually consume something unhealthy? This is just a one observation that kind of gives more insight to evolutionary theory and inescapable fact, that we are very similar to monkeys in a way.I What are your comments on this?

Birding Balangshan, Sichuan, China (part 3)

High up at almost 4500 meters, some Alpine Accentors were posing in the sunshine, justifying the description in the HBW as “large, attractive accentor” (though eBird seems to disagree, instead characterizing the species as a “stocky, stout, and unobtrusive bird”). I still do not like monkeys very much.

Among 60 or so heron species in the world this is the only one using this peculiar fishing technique. The gentleman living on a farm by the Ngotwane Dam said ‘A croc took my dog, right there!’. Why Red-ruffed Fruitcrow?

Sometimes, they even have the same species… I’m looking at you, House Wren ! While this low-density species may be declining across its wide range, BirdLife International still considers it of Least Concern. Of course I got great looks at the Red-ruffed Fruitcrow (as well as the Cauca Guan) right at the lodge.
