India Takes More Steps to Protect Tigers

Critter News

India is to amend its wildlife crime laws to protect the country's tigers, a government minister said. Environment and forest minister Jairam Ramesh said that speeding up justice as well as hefty fines are needed to strengthen the Wildlife Protection Act. Nearly 80,000 to 100,000 families inhabiting core areas of tiger reserves will be relocated and given £12,500 each as part of the measures. But is it enough? From the Press Association.

The definition of the word HUNT is “to chase or search for game or other wild animals for the purpose of catching or killing.” ” Obviously the dictionary does not equate hunting with conservation. Lacey of Iowa introduced the nation’s first wildlife-protection law, which banned the interstate shipping of unlawfully killed game.

Tell me, what happens if we rip away hunting when hunting protects more wildlife land in Africa than national parks? Hi there.

More states will doubtless join the queue of those proposing hunts.

On my recent visit to southern Africa I saw them in several parks and even outside some protected areas, and in some numbers too.

Remarkably, there are 59 bird families that have very little cultural significance; these are listed in Appendix III.

Pardalotes are actually their own family, and a family entirely endemic to Australia. Insofar as they relate to other bird families, they are perhaps closest to the thornbills, another family that is mostly Australian but reaches as far as Thailand and Fiji. That family is sometimes known as the Australian warblers, but that perhaps isn’t the best name because it leads to bad habits in mental sorting.
