Baby Squirrel

Reddit Animals

Haven’t seen any other squirrels around. At work for the past two days a baby squirt has been crying and running around. Should I take it to a shelter or will the mother come back? It’s been crying all day. submitted by /u/Mickywoof [link] [comments]

Baby squirrel question

Reddit Animals

Despite the presence of a dog, a grey squirrel decided our yard was the place to dig a hole and apparently create a burrow. I did not know that type of squirrel burrowed like that - I thought they made nests in trees! We called him off but a young squirrel appears to have been displaced. Dog’s inside but that’s not sustainable.

Will I get rabies if I go near this squirrel?

Reddit Animals

Yesterday, I put out some food for squirrels. Today, there is a squirrel eating it. The squirrel is not afraid of me though, and will not run away from me. I dunno if he just is stupid and has learned to trust me simply because the food smells like me, or if he is rabid.

Any idea what could have caused the injuries on this squirrel?

My family and I feed a few squirrels on our front deck. Last night we noticed this one squirrel has a mirrored injury. Last photo irrelevant but funny because the squirrel comes to the window looking cute for more food. submitted by /u/SniperSR25 [link] [comments]

On a walk around Baisley Pond Park’s eponymous pond in Queens recently I heard a Gray Squirrel chittering away angrily at something. Tired of White-throated Sparrows and American Robins , I decided to stroll over and see what the squirrel was so upset about. But the hawk would not give the squirrel long to rest.

The squirrel next door

10,000 Birds

I still know my audience - this is primarily a blog read by birders in North America, who see the term “squirrel” as little more than a synonym for house sparrow, starling, pest and cholera. But bear with me for a second: this post presents a different context for a different squirrel. Anyway, the Eurasian Red Squirrel.
