Young Thrushes

Clearly a maddening situation for any right-thinking thrush. This gave us several chances to experience them at various stages of growth. It may seem like a grown bird, but the rufous tips on the wing coverts of this Cocoa Thrush tell us it is still in its first year of life. They seem to be a bit angry for the most part.

Highlights from the 2022 Arenal Christmas Count in Costa Rica

A couple of presentations were also given; one by Diego Quesada of Birding Experiences regarding count routes, and another given by Juan Diego Vargas of Lifer Tours that provided interesting and novel information about the count species, the Keel-billed Motmot. 16 Hummingbird Species. Quite a few hummingbirds were around.
