A surprise Orange Chat

One of the target bird species for birders when they visit the Broome area is Yellow Chat. The last record of an Orange Chat in the Broome area was in 2006. The colour on this bird species is incredible and not easily hidden in the environment. For scale I will include some photographs of the Orange Chat with other bird species.

Come to India With Babita Wildlife Tours!

On a recent visit I threw my bags in the hotel room and went straight there, and got over 60 species of birds in a few hours and fantastic views of Nilgai , the largest antelope in India. Commoner species include Bar-headed Geese , parakeets, shrikes, mynas and minivets. You should also see Gharial and Mugger Crocodiles there.

North American Songbirds: A Book Review

A little research revealed that these are old names of birds that have been split into different species. Water Pipit is now known as a European species; the American subspecies became the full species American Pipit in 1989. Scientific names don’t reflect the massive changes to species in the warbler family.
