Have done a bit of rescue volunteering in the past. I know no amount of rescue service will make up or replace or change what those poor beings went through. Have any of you guys here had similar experiences? And once the deed is done you start repenting your vile act. I used to do this when I was a kid. Please help/suggest.

One reason that I can think of for subjecting myself to such a torturous experience is if I am going birdwatching. I caught traveler’s diarrhea four days ago in the jungle (Imodium to the rescue, but just barely). To see any cotinga perched this close and in the open is an incredible experience. Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

Juliet and Foxy, a Terrier mix and a Chow Chow/Cocker Spaniel mix, are my rescues. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t make great companions for the right adoptive family.

There was plenty of time to try to convince the dogs that the people in the canoe were not in imminent danger and did not need to be rescued.
