Cemetery Owls

10,000 Birds

Lifer! But, which one?

10,000 Birds

Along with the Sedge/Grass Wrens Ignacio had reported, he had also posted some fine photos of a Great Horned Owl that had roosted on his property. I hardly ever see owls, except for Ferruginous Pygmy Owls , so this was another big draw for me. That’s 100% Barn Owl butt, right there.

Shutting Your Trap

10,000 Birds

She had taken her border collie for a walk in the woods in the local 1200-acre state park, and her dog had stepped on a leghold trap. Astrid’s dog howled as she pried it off. The trap had been set in the woods right next to my house. No owl, just the leg. A few years ago my friend Astrid called me on the phone.

New Place in Costa Rica, New Yard List

10,000 Birds
