A couple of years ago I wrote about whether it's a good use of my time to be a purist about the term "animal rights" when most of the world doesn't have the same understanding of the term as I do. Or how a paragraph would refer to animal rights and animal welfare as if they're interchangeable.

Only one eyewitness talked, a lady which said "I saw Oliver with a man together going to a warehouse, I heared Oliver crying and when the dog came out it was injured. Two full days at Hart Mountain Wildlife Refuge, three days at Dog Lake, and a short visit to Upper Cottonwood Lake brought back many great memories, in addition to a nice list of birds. Then, to finish the week, we visited the famous, and not necessarily for all the right reasons, Malhuer Wildlife Refuge. The bunny got away.

While visiting the Kakadu National Park, I was able to photograph this Rainbow Bee eater right after it had caught a dragonfly. The birds are now breeding in the area, but are quite happy to keep coming to the daily feeding station in groups of over 100 birds. The first bird in that grouping would be the White-crowned Helmut-shrike.

The Davis County Commission has agreed to pay the legal fees of an animal rights group after settling a lawsuit over animal shelter records. The money will cover a portion of PETA's legal fees for a lawsuit the group filed in January about animals that had been sold by the county shelter for research purposes.

A little further, there’s a family group of Savannah Elephants with two two-year olds. Those that crossed the road first are waiting for the rest of the group at the other side. Painted Dogs are already extinct in 25 out of 39 countries that they used to inhabit. The first to cross is an old female with a two-year old baby.

The dog-loving owners of the property in Julian where he sought refuge rushed him to the local veterinarian, who informed them that if his leg was amputated, he could live as an indoor cat. Cathy and Donna, the staunchly dog-only people, decided to bring the kitten home with them to help him heal after the successful amputation of his leg.
