Birding on Texel in Late October

10,000 Birds

Although not as exciting as Helgoland, which I covered here recently , Texel is an excellent location in its own right. Groups of up to 100 thrushes, mainly Fieldfares and Redwings , passed through and foraged in the bushes as well. I also saw a few Snow Buntings on the beach near the lighthouse.

I was browsing for some quotes when I came across this group - The National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA). They had a page with quotes from animal rights activists, but as I was reading, I noticed that they were very unfavorable quotes from such activists as Wayne Pacelle and Ingrid Newkirk.

Mean Lady Hates Pet Bereavement Groups

Apparently there was an announcement at the desk for a pet bereavement group. A pet bereavement group. The woman walked right past me and I just stared at her. I think pet bereavement groups are really important and I think that's a horrible thing to say. No one has any right to criticize a person's grief.
