Their proclivity for living in small social groups was fact that I learned much later. One of these methods is where one bird will fly down thru an arroyo, and spook out the game for its waiting members of the pack.

We observed this Foxy Lark vocalizing while on a game drive. I can’t say that the rest of the group shared my commitment. This Pink-breasted Lark was kind enough to let me photograph it as it bathed in the rosy light of the setting sun. Only a Red-capped Lark seemed distinctive to me in the field.

This is one small part of the family group on the dirt between the small irrigation canal and the corn field. Several times, a couple of the juvenile owls would take off in a game of chase.
