The species is only in the north of Australia and they are often found in locations that are hard to get to year round. One species I can always count on at Colusa NWR is the Black-crowned Night-Heron ( Nycticorax nycticorax ), which boasts a large resident population. During a two-year long moratorium on hunting in T&T, I had some of the most incredible birding experiences.
