Magpie Geese breed near Broome once again

This year we have had high numbers of Magpie Geese once again in the Broome area and this last weekend we observed our first family groups for the season. The Magpie Geese families are on the move and the family groups that we saw last weekend all consisted of three adults and ten or more goslings.

Because NAOC is so large, it is more accurate to say I sampled small parts of the enormous event. It may or may not be repeated, but I hope future events are a hybrid format. For birders, the most interesting events are the keynote and plenary speakers, paper sessions, symposia, and poster sessions.
