Can animals that typically live on both land and water live without being in the water?

I know that there are certain animals like frogs, capybaras, alligators, beavers and turtles that live on both land and water. Apologies for the weirdly worded title. If any of these animals were put into a place where they had access only to drinking water, but no body of water to swim in, does this jeopardize their ability to survive?
