The African Pygmy Goose to me looks a bit like an annoying teenager on a subway train who wants to highlight the fact that he wears enormous earphones. These two Hadada Ibis are reenacting the mirror scene from “Duck soup” (sort of). It still looks pretty much like a Purple Swamphen to me. In a distinct color.

Mandarin Ducks are countable in Germany. Hooded Crow at the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main train station) Hooded Crows , or, as the Germans call them, Fog Crows (though in German of course), are everywhere in Berlin. Watch out for a full gallery of this bird soon. You never get tired of Hooded Crows.

You can easily get there via public transport by taking the train to Lara from either Geelong or Melbourne if you do not have access to a vehicle. Chestnut Teal and Hardheads were the predominant ducks and there were several Masked Lapwings amongst them. Lara is about 20 kilometres from Geelong or 60 kilometres south-west of Melbourne.

A singing Red-eyed Vireo , a flock of Wood Ducks , a Gray Catbird mewing from the bushes, a flyover Belted Kingfisher , and Greater Scaup flying past on the ocean all kept our tally rising.
