The birdlife here is wonderful, a ten-night safari should give you over 200 species, (2018 & 2019 both gave us 242!). Add the chance of the African animals you’d expect, Elephant , Lion , Leopard and a host of antelope, who’s mouth would not water at the prospect? While we look for animal tracks, you’ll see so much else as we go.

Sadly in June 2018 a weed was found in the area and they had to completely close the rest area down. It does not completely solve the problem, because animals transport the burrs, but it will hopefully slow the spread. Nowadays there are a lot of caravans on the highway and they seek out picturesque locations with warm weather.

Hi, we've had two dogs (Teddy and Brandy) since 2015 who are just the cutest but on a sunny day as per his walking routine in 2018 Ted went off his leash and ran to a small kitten he found in the park who kept crying for her mother and just wouldn't leave her side.

It is now very hot and dry inland and the temperature does not drop much at night, so you go to bed early and get up early like the animals and birds. They are generally very relaxed animals and hang around in the tops of the eucalyptus trees. There is also a promenade for strolling along the top of the cliffs and there are several seating areas incorporating artwork of native animals and birds.
