The woman was friends with the chimp’s “owner , and was called to help coax him back indoors after he escaped using a key to unlock the front door. Owen County Friends of Animals (KY) is a non-profit organization that fosters and seeks adoptions for the dogs picked up by their local dog warden. Doesn't he look like my boy Charles ? Dogs they can not place in foster care or find adoptive homes for are euthanized after 14 days by county ordinance. Their shelter is full. Flex is a handsome, neutered male, red fawn greyhound (currently under 60 pounds). He came to OCFA totally flea infested and with a few open wounds.

I've always thought of horse-drawn carriages the way I think about greyhound racing or fur: Most people are against them, so why are they still around? It's dying because of low attendance at a venue that's relatively expensive to maintain. The Coalition to Ban Horse-Drawn Carriages calls itself "an animal rights-protection-abolitionist organization," which I find interesting. Regardless, they are joining Friends of Animals and Hearts for Animals on Saturday December 5.

Animals in nature don’t need to be controlled by a species that has such difficulty in controlling itself.
