I want to alert you to a recent study (from April) that looks at the plight of bird populations under conditions of climate change in Europe and North America. The study looked at common birds, and used data divided by either state (in the US) or country (in Europe). Again, Europe is on the left, North America is on the right.

Apparently, in Europe Bramblings are the species appearing in the largest flocks and are thus “an interesting case study for discussing number estimates” ( source ). The Common Pheasants in Shanghai are all wild – there is no program of supporting the wild population by releasing hand-reared birds.

Mute Swans are large, white, and decorative, and as such their natural range has been significantly altered by humans who generally enjoy having them around. Its natural range in Europe was restricted the the surroundings of the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, and in Asia it ranged from Asia Minor to central China.
