You see, the bird was collected for scientific study. Or how gracefully it flew?

A federal government decision to allow a Wyoming tribe to kill two bald eagles for a religious ceremony is a victory for American Indian sovereignty as well as for long-suppressed religious freedoms, the tribe says. The Northern Arapaho decline to say specifically what they will do with the eagles the federal permit allows them to kill.

In fact, if I remember correctly, it was 2013 when I first noticed (from an office window) a huge collection of sticks at the crown of a large immortelle tree. A female American Redstart showed up, but all attention was quickly diverted to a group of Channel-billed Toucans that had just arrived.
