A Fine Day for Photos

The guy has an apparently endless supply of fantastic bird photos. So it was very pleasant when I went birding the other day and the angels of photography went with me. In the early day, the light was just right. Later in the day, several difficult species decided to be less difficult. I am deeply jealous of Kai Pflug.

Horrible Hybrids

On BirdTrack, the British equivalent of e-Bird, the list of birds provided does allow for Tufted Duck x Ferruginous Duck to be recorded, but not Tufted Duck x Pochard. However, that’s exactly what I guessed the duck swimming in front of me had to be. My hunch was Tufted Duck x Pochard.
