The press material says it covers over 800 species, so you know I had to do a count.

Ruddy Turnstone Arenaria interpres at Brigantine

Either that, or I see them in spring with hordes of other shorebirds feeding on the eggs of Horseshoe Crabs. Ruddy Turnstone is a Species of Least Concern according to BirdLife International. It is one of two turnstone species, the other being the Black Turnstone A. Eventually, with patience and persistence, I succeeded!

Horned Larks breed widely over North America, including up here in the High Arctic. Here they are a common breeding bird, one of our two species that migrate from here to Europe and then south. At the same time (and sometime the same location) we have Semipalmated Plovers breeding, which makes identification a challenge.
