The Collins Bird Guide, 3rd edition

10,000 Birds

The Collins Bird Guide covers Europe, North Atlantic islands, much of North Africa and the Middle East. The 1st edition from 1999 was a complete revolution in just about everything, but predominantly the quality and realism of illustrations, showing what a field guide could be and seriously raising the threshold for other publishers.

Birding Singapore

10,000 Birds

The only bird-related activity I can think of is looking at bird photos I took in Singapore in 2015, and adding some irrelevant comments to them. 10,000 Birds

On that glorious day, I observed ten critically endangered birds, representing 8% of their Costa Rican, or 2% of their global population!! In my previous post , I dealt with Rancho Naturalista Lodge itself and birding within their private reserve. But, let’s start at the beginning. A group (maybe 4-5 ex.) My OCD would not stand that!

The Reva Situation

10,000 Birds

Reva is also a part of the local Important Bird and Biodiversity Area “Confluence of the Sava and the Danube Rivers”. Personally I wasn’t happy, but I do not live there and do not have a septic tank in my backyard, so I felt that I had no right to complain. The post The Reva Situation appeared first on 10,000 Birds.
