Birding Dongfang and Dongzhai on Hainan

10,000 Birds

In Shanghai, such fake brands more or less vanished more than 10 years ago, but it seems that on Hainan, there still is a space for them. Playboy is a brand of unexciting clothes – not sure whether there is any connection to Hefner’s empire or whether this brand even exists in the western world.

Birding Singapore

10,000 Birds

The only bird-related activity I can think of is looking at bird photos I took in Singapore in 2015, and adding some irrelevant comments to them. A Slacker’s Guide to Bird Photography (Part Two)

10,000 Birds

Last week I humbly offered up a totally unprofessional, possibly misinformed guide to taking bird photos that aren’t completely embarrassing, and that might even make you proud on occasion. Our focus is on seeing as many birds as possible on a given outing. No doubt other digital brands come with equivalent software.

The Birds of Washington, DC

10,000 Birds

There are a lot of birds in Washington, DC. Oh sure, you can go to Rock Creek Park or the Tidal Basin to seek out living avian species, or visitors can head to the Smithsonian museums for a dose of past and present bird lore from all over the world. In early June, I took note of each museum bird I spotted.
