Although paramos can’t boast of having a high species count, nevertheless they easily compensate for that with very singular and most interesting species. The aquarium said it hoped Homer would help raise awareness about the plight of his species. Dangers include fishermen deliberately blinding the animals to protect fishing equipment. From the BBC.

As Chilean officials and volunteers rescued 17 birds they noticed the birds were foaming from the beak. Andean condors are vultures and feed exclusively on “carrion” dead animals. It is true that condors eat dead animals. Other birds were seen crash landing. Another sick condor and two dead ones were found nearby.

I happened to work at that facility, for International Bird Rescue at the Los Angeles Oiled Bird Care and Education Center , part of the Oiled Wildlife Care Network. It had taken the company this long to get a team out to rescue any impacted wild animals.

It is not generally advisable to travel from dusk to dawn due to the risk of animals crossing the roads. A tow truck had rescued a four-wheel drive and camper trailer, so not every vehicle completes the journey successfully. The start of the Gibb River Road from the east. Just a month after Busch Gardens took in a cheetah cub whose mother wasn’t caring for it, the park’s animal care team has identified the perfect four-legged friend for the 8-week-old cat: a 16-week old female yellow Labrador puppy. A that point in time, I could not imagine the adventure that I was going to experience and how birds would have rescued me.
