That magnificent predator was too distant for decent photos, so I snapped some of the Long-tailed Ducks on which the owl has been sustaining itself… As for Corey, his Space Coast experience is yielding ABA birds and lifers in buckets.

The last time I had seen a Summer Tanager was during a Christmas Bird Count in 2012. A pair of Tropical Screech-owls have been roosting in a cherry tree for a number of years. Our most significant sighting in our backyard since quarantine began was this Pale-breasted Spinetail that never gifted me a direct view. Typical of the species.

SINGAPORE, DECEMBER 2012 – Ask any birder where you should go birding in Singapore and the short list will always include Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve , this city-state’s finest wetlands. The bird I’m most proud of, though, is not the Chinese Egret but rather an owl I found by myself, a far too uncommon occurrence.
