The HBW describes the population of the Blue-naped Parrot at Kota Kinabalu as feral – sounds a bit harsh to me given the proximity of Kota Kinabalu to those areas where the species is deemed a proper resident. It is listed as Near Threatened, partly due to the usual occurrence of illegal trade for the pet market.

Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly. They are much more independent and still behave similarly to wild cats they are still pets and rely on humans to survive.

But I don’t agree with the supplemental feeding that happens with feral cats–if you’re gonna call them wildlife, treat them as such.

Tibbles did contribute, but it was a population of feral cats that did the bulk of the killing. For the wren, that advantage was taken away in 1894, when a pregnant cat escaped (Tibbles was a pet taken from the subsequent feral population). Ironically these are the same feral cats that exterminated the wren in the first place.
