I grew up surrounded by animals and now, as an adult who is going through the worst period of her life, all I think of is of the day I will have a dog or even a rabbit by my side. While I have the money, time and availability (as I work from home) to have a dog, all I see is difficulties.

Another thing we love about Etched In My Heart is that they donate part of their proceeds to The PetSave Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Bona Tucker in June 2000 as a rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption resource for domestic rabbits, cats and dogs.

Other than those, I'm just about open to any pet if I make sure it's legal in my state first.

I took a ride up to the Fall River Valley back in October and spotted both morphs in the large grasslands where we also usually see Rough-legged Hawks and Prairie Falcons. This is the light morph.

The family simply did not have enough money to feed their beloved dog and with breaking hearts they relinquished him to a shelter where he died shortly thereafter of a broken heart after being so loved by this family for many years.

None of my neighbors have cats and I'm only aware of one dog owner blocks away. Lots of squirrels, chipmunks, deer, rabbits. I have never once seen a cat anywhere in my neighborhood. or even this city for that matter. We do have a possum and a raccoon that live somewhere on the property. but that's pretty much it for mammals.
