There was one odd reprint in 2018, when the Subalpine Warbler was split into the Eastern and Western species, but the changes in the guide weren’t sufficient to call it a 3rd edition, so it remained the updated reprint of the 2nd edition. I’m was very happy with this sighting, but noticed that these birds never seem to be males in their attractive non-breeding plumage, the main image you recall from the bird guides. maurus and S.

Australian Painted Snipe breeding near Broome

After a very good Wet Season with substantially more rain than normal over the first few months of 2017 the land was flooded and a huge variety of birds arrived in the Broome area to take advantage of the ideal conditions for breeding. Two birds on the right and one on the left-note the bills! Three swimming Australian Painted Snipe.
