In April 2012 I wrote about A close encounter with a Wedge-tailed Eagle. This time the Wedge-tailed Eagle was closer and only involved ourselves and no other creatures. In 2022, the 10,000 Birds eBird Collaborative submitted 1,837 checklists from 9 countries ( Australia , China , Costa Rica , Mexico , Saint Lucia , Serbia , Trinidad and Tobago , United Kingdom , and the United States ) and observed 1,273 species. The Collaborative life list increased to 4,140.

White-bellied Sea-Eagle having lunch

On a recent visit to the Poo Ponds we came across a White-bellied Sea-Eagle enjoying lunch. These eagles are generally seen soaring along the coastline looking for food or nesting inland at the ephemeral lakes. If you like eagles then you should see how magnificent our Wedge-tailed Eagle is.
