It is probably the case that the rapid spread of Lyme Disease from Connecticut to the rest of the United States and adjoining regions of Canada was because some species of birds (but not all) can carry Lyme disease, and can also carry the ticks that carry the disease.

Similarly, descriptions of species repeated across volumes do not lose their accuracy with each publication. Other species are splits and lumped and have had their names changed. Tommy Thompson Park Bird Research Station in Toronto had an extremely rare and beautiful Townsend’s Warbler x Black-throated Gray Warbler which was banded in April.
