Not a problem, I would be happy just searching for it. We are searching tree crowns: Indian Grey Hornbill , White-bellied Drongo … It is estimated that the global population of Forest Owlet is less than 400 birds strong (from 70 to 400, with a maximum of 250 adults within the population).

In Search of the White Wagtail at Cabrillo Beach

I pulled in to the beach, parked the car, and started my search. I concentrated on the ocean side, as that is where the bird had been seen, but expanded my search to the bay side, to the grassy areas in between, and down around Point Fermin. We parted ways and kept searching, all to no avail. I could not find the bird.
