Fur and Fangs rather than Feathers and Beaks

10,000 Birds

I viewed them at dusk, through a telescope, from a ridge overlooking the area they were hunting. I’ve yet to see an English pine marten, but I once watched one hunting red squirrels in the Bialowieza Forest in Poland. My only wolf sightings have been in Spain, in December, and at great range.

People of a Feather

10,000 Birds

A bit alarming, given the events of the last few weeks in Missoula, but after years of close encounters with chipmunks and ground squirrels I have finally gotten to have a pretty good idea of a rodent when I hear one. A loud chirp rang from the side of the mountain, and a handful of stones skittered down the talus slope.
