It is unclear if they start with new sticks or use sticks from the old bower initially, but they definitely do take sticks from the old bowers at some stage of the building process and often very little remains. No doubt after our cyclone season it is easier to start from scratch rather than try and repair a damaged bower.

The only shelter is at the Sailing Club and there are also picnic tables there too. It is definitely worth keeping your eyes to the sky in between all of the scanning across the water and down the slopes, because the area is an excellent hunting ground for both the Common Kestrel and the Common Buzzard. kilometres/2.25

On May 5, 2010, I adopted a two-year-old poodle/terrier mix from our local shelter, Animal Allies. She came from another shelter as a stray, had been abused, was very skinny, and she was extremely shy and afraid of everyone. When I told them Angel’s name, they said it was definitely the perfect name for her.

It is impressive and is very hard to show the extent of the whole crater, but we were definitely not disappointed! Wallabies were still digging in the salty ground and there was shade and shelter for them inside the crater. Yellow-throated Miners soon alerted us to their presence as we reached the rim and admired the view.
