Yellow-billed Spoonbills breeding

There was an island in the middle of the river and the tall trees held Yellow-billed Spoonbill nests and there were several families within the vicinity. One family of Yellow-billed Spoonbills all lined up together on the one branch over the river and made for an impressive group of birds. Yellow-billed Spoonbill family.

Here in central Mexico, the winter season always seems to begin with the arrival of various members of the sandpiper family. I did a bit better with the Phalaropes ; while I only had one encounter, it was with a medium-sized group, and they seemed quite willing to let me take their picture. Definitely an adult.
