I saw 32 species here in my first 24 hours, some of them exciting ones. So I was delighted when the Seminary grounds turned out to host at least 6 of these beautiful birds. My second lifer this trip was a migratory Yellow-throated Warbler , a species I could not hope to see my previous trip, which had occurred in early summer.

The person who named this bird apparently cleverly chose the name Yellow-rumped Flycatcher to distinguish the bird from the Narcissus Flycatcher, which is also yellow-rumped. In Chinese, this bird is called White-browed Flycatcher, which introduces some (possibly undesirable) logic into the world of bird names.

The trail offers native flowering trees and shrubs, which attract birds as does the water. Flemington Lakes When you walk around the trail there is one area that has rocks across the middle of the water and it offers feeding opportunities for the birds.
