I saw my first migratory Eastern Phoebe of 2019 this morning at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Over the last ten years my average first phoebe has been the 22nd of March, meaning that this year’s bird was five days earlier than average and nearly two weeks earlier than last year’s. 2010 – 31 March. 2019 – 17 March.

Every year from around January through the end of March, Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park comes alive as water levels throughout the park drop and force birds to concentrate around more permanent water sources. Suddenly, the entire trail system comes alive as birds begin their day.

Yes, the earth has gone around the sun twice since the uproar from birders and other lovers of wildlife managed to convince the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to table the idea of hunting Sandhill Cranes in Tennessee for two years. Another species of Python, the African Python ( Python sebae ) has established a small population in the 2,877-acre Bird Drive Area (BDA) in South Florida. It is likely that the population of African Pythons was started the same way as the Bird Drive Area is bordered by major highways and is adjacent to urban areas. Rock Python.

This method of marking largely relies on recapturing the bird in order to read and record the band data.

However, I have to put it in perspective by explaining that during the year I hardly ventured out of East Anglia, and almost every bird was seen in Suffolk or Norfolk – I live on the county boundary.
