Center for Tobacco, Alcohol and Restaurant Industries Resends Press Release About PETA
MARCH 31, 2009
It seems like every 6 months or so, the Center for Consumer Freedom, a front group for the tobacco, alcohol and restaurant industries sends out a press release about how many animals PETA allegedly kills. You can read about these people here. They are then dutifully printed in places like this KC Star blog , although I do see that the guy had the decency to print PETA's response. I'm glad he did that. Phil Defranco did the same thing on his youtube video.

Tom Regan on the Animal-Rights Movement
SEPTEMBER 14, 2012
In issuing its condemnation of established cultural practices, the rights view is not antibusiness, not antifreedom of the individual, not antiscience, not antihuman. It is simply projustice, insisting only that the scope of justice be seen to include respect for the rights of animals.

"I watched prairie dogs every day, rise before the sun, stand with their paws pressed together facing the rising sun in total stillness for up to 30 minutes," says Williams. And then I watched them at the end of the day take that same gesture 30 minutes before the sun goes down they would press their palms together in perfect stillness.

UC Berkeley vivisector Ralph Freeman and all of the current lab members in Freeman's Visual Neuroscience Lab were sent a trojan horse virus embedded into email. Mexican Senators Look at Banning Bullfights
MAY 7, 2011
Bullfights seem really thoughtless and savage to me," the senator said in a press conference on Monday. I'm very, very surprised. And not very optimistic. Mexico is notorious for its bullfights and lack of animal rights. But, still, I can't dismiss it. From Fox News (blech). Senators from the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, are working on legislation to ban bullfights and guarantee animal rights in Mexico, a lawmaker said.
Unexpected Farm Animal Deal in Ohio
JULY 3, 2010
From the Associated Press. To me, it's another example of the Humane Society's growing savvy and clout in the US. Clemson Researcher Investigates Impacts of Cages on Laying Hens
JUNE 28, 2009

More is at stake than just the comfort of chickens, though the well-being of 284 million U.S. laying hens is no small matter.
