My large Pied Oystercatcher family

Having found my large Pied Oystercatcher family last week I have spent a lot of time with them this week. The Pied Oystercatcher family, which almost looks like a small flock, have remained in the same place at high tide all week. Once the tide dropped they moved forward as a family and wandered along the exposed sand looking for food.

The Juniper Titmouse Nesting Project

The Aldea Birding Group that spearheaded this project placed 70 nest boxes in our open spaces and pulled in volunteers to monitor them during the bird’s mating season. Now we were in Finca Tres Equis, a family cocoa farm (if I understood well, it translates as Triple X Farm) and a private reserve of over 300 hectares, of which more than 70 percent is a forest, representing part of a Jaguar corridor. A group (maybe 4-5 ex.) At least one Boat-billed Heron awaited us in the thickets.
