Quite content with this haul of birds for the morning, I made my way back to Amsterdam. Ruddy Turnstone To conclude the visit, I checked out the area around the Kennemermeer , were several duck species can sometimes be seen. I only saw the regular garden birds as well as Goldcrest , Eurasian Sparrowhawk , and Common Pochard.

The Terns were quite content loafing on the highway and flying off when the limited traffic approached as you can see above. We did not get the huge flocks of locusts this year like we did in 2021.

Little Egret in the Indian Ocean

It is quite content running about in quite deep water up to its body. On our recent walks along Cable Beach checking on the pairs of Pied Oystercatchers that are currently breeding we have often observed a Little Egret. There is only ever one Little Egret and it runs around in the shallows of the Indian Ocean.

We were quite content to sit and watch the Black-breasted Buzzards , Australasian Grebes , Black-fronted Dotterels , and the many other birds that came for water. A Wood Sandpiper was quite content walking in front of us. Wood Sandpiper. By 2:15pm the Red-collared Lorikeet had been on the branch in the water for 45 minutes.

I don’t know id this counts as “sad” content but I’m really freaking out now so I’d be happy if I get some useful advice. He doesn’t seem to have any physical injury but he refuses to eat or drink. I really don’t know what to do since I can’t take him to the vet. Will he recover on his own? Is it possible it forgot where he lives?
