Family footprints. When I find these Pied Oystercatcher family footprints like above I don’t need to see the young, because that is enough evidence to know there are young hidden in the vegetation. The only harassment came from the resident Red-tailed Squirrel family – which seemed to be more curiosity than anything else, as their nest was just about two feet away. Both species seemed content to observe each other though. This young male Summer Tanager didn’t linger or waste time.

eBird states that White Wagtails are “usually seen as singles, pairs, or small groups”, which seems a sentence rather devoid of any information content. While for some reason at Nanhui, it is almost easier to see Black-faced Spoonbill than Eurasian Spoonbill , the latter was more common on Chongming Island this month.

Some are just birds I happen to favor, some are judged on how hard they were to obtain, and others are based on the quality/content of the image. I happen to think the Crested Cara cara is one of the most beautiful birds in the falcon family. They stay here in Mexico despite the heat, and raise their families.
