To start the owner is a 65 year old short stubby man with many medical issues including a gimpy leg and bad back. I'm just furious that the owner would get such a large breed and stick it out in the cold with no interaction for months at a time it seems. Fast forward to now and I never see his dog anymore or him for that matter.

Unfortunately, the Ashy Drongos did not exactly do what he predicted that they would do – mob potential predators more frequently during the breeding season and mob the more dangerous predator (in this case, the Black Eagle) more intensely. If you do not want to be put in a cage, it presumably helps to be a bit aggressive.

We also try to re-nest uninjured baby birds so we don’t interfere with a bird’s breeding cycle. It needs to be properly medicated and triaged. Most likely the bird will need to be medicated for a few days “just in case.”. Wild bird rehabilitators want bird parents to feed their own babies. After all, “Mother knows best.”
