Konik Ponies in Scottish Conservation

The Loch of Strathbeg reserve in Aberdeenshire Scotland has begun to use eight rare ‘Konick’ horses to manage and improve it’s wetland habitats for birds. Now, thanks to the grazing habits of these horses, the machines can be ditched and an au naturel approach to habitat management adopted.

The Popular Barn Swallow

The Barn Swallow ( Hirundo rustica ) is one of the most widespread and popular birds. They are still among the coolest birds on my list. CR being the highest category in the Red List , if I want to see some of those birds, I better hurry! Locals being vegetarians, why are there no birds? Sociable Lapwings breed in several areas along the Kazakhstani – Russian border and overwinter in Iraq, Sudan and northwest India. Did I counted some pile of dirt as a bird?
