The main reason for them doing so is due to them needing very little water and they collect the seeds to establish more plants. We have the prostrate species and it’s has long flowers flowing onto the garden, which they can easily access. The Little Corellas feed on the seeds given half a chance!

It is the one area of beach that is mostly clear of the algae and where the shorebirds can walk without it collecting around their feet. By the way Woodswallows are chunky little insectivorous birds found in the south Pacific, Australia and southern and eastern Asia. Even for some of the birds it is cold.

The distance to the coast for the pair of Brahminy Kites to collect fresh fish is not far. Both bird species fish in the same locations around Broome, though. The Terminalia species of tree is well known for its medicinal benefits in the north of Australia. Terminalia ferdinandiana is the most well-known of the species and the berries contain more vitamin C than other plants. The tree is also known as Gubinge or Kakadu Plum. Painted Finch collect the charcoal from the fireplaces in the area. It is incredible how many species you can see in a few minutes. There was no other water nearby, so within a few minutes we observed numerous species. . Doolena Gorge is always worth a visit for its natural beauty. You can drive or walk slowly there and back.

The Great Bowerbirds only collect white and green, but they have mostly collected white rocks at this location. Another bird species that we almost always observe in this location is the Common Bronzewing.
