Over the last ten years my average first phoebe has been the 20th of March, meaning that this year’s bird was seven days earlier than average but only two days earlier than last year’s, which, if I continue my trend from 2019 means that next year I should find my first phoebe on 11 March. 2020 – 15 March. 2019 – 17 March.

I photographed the Black-tailed Godwit in my photograph ( above ) on 18 September 2020. Most of the Icelandic population winters in the British isles The sightings stopped, but then on 18 February 2019 EY70 137 was observed on Lady’s Island Lake, Wexford, Ireland. With luck you will get a speedy reply, telling you the bird’s history.

In 2019, this lone American Flamingo found a friend: a Chilean Flamingo. I should also mention that the male American Flamingo and female Chilean Flamingo were briefly joined by an equally improbable male Chilean Flamingo in the fall of 2020 and the spring of 2021, but the male has not appeared since then. Life is strange.)

It got worse and worse as time went on, especially bad after in 2019 we got my second dog lily. I’ve been dealing with him being especially bad as a brother and animal owner since 2019, when he became physically and mentally abusive and it really started to show.

The most recent report was issued in December 2019 and it used data from the 2016 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation. Birding reported a paid distribution of approximately 9,300 on its Form 3526 in October 2019. There are (as of 2020) approximately 550,000 world-wide users of eBird.

I knew that Michoacan’s rainfall during the 2019 summer rainy season had been quite poor. Will that be enough for the lake to come back for 2020-2021? A very bad rainy season may completely dry up the western half of the lake, which is separated from the three rivers that feed it by two north-south causeways.

So, on April 13th, I chose to go back to the same site I visited on my first outing of 2020, Lake Cuitzeo. Our 2019 summer rainy season had lower-than-normal rains, and the lake is now extremely shallow. So off to the lake I went, to see which ducks and shorebirds were still here, and which had already left.

While this species is very common in Japan, a few showed up on the Shanghai coast in the winter of 2019/2020. “Dissonant, moi?” ” For the similarly-named Brown-breasted Bulbul , the criticism focuses on the appearance, not the sound – “a large dull bulbul” is the way eBird phrases a thumbs-down.

In 2020 with Covid 19 shutting down international birding, some of the local legends concentrated on their local lists more exclusively; some of the birders birding, more or less, full time. I achieved five lifers in Michoacán in 2019, four in 2020, three in 2021, and only two in 2022. When you have birded a single area as much and for as long as I have birded Michoacán, it becomes progressively harder to find first-time species (“lifers”) there. As you can see, this is not a promising trend.

That number was a bit better than my first-day total from 2019, though a bit worse than 2020’s total. He was also quite taken with the Clark’s Grebes , one of which gave us an unusually close view of that wonderful red eye. We certainly couldn’t complain about the day’s total of 81 species.
