They look crap but presumably offer some protection for the chicks, though not from each other (see the murderous activities within the nests in my previous post ). Tiphys died either of a snakebite or of a mysterious illness but he was not killed by either a tiger or a rhinoceros. Lucky him, right? Though he ended up dead anyway.

Bill Introduced in Congress to Protect Wild Horses

Nick Rahall and Raul Grijalva have introduced a bill that would protect healthy wild horses from being killed by the BLM. In a written statement, Rahall says the intent is to help spur alternatives to killing excess wild horses that are in holding facilities.
