I had just missed two bird species, both of which were probably Year Birds for me, and I felt my cold dragging down my energy levels. After purchasing an Audubon field guide to butterflies over the summer, I have slowly begun to learn a few species here and there. Another birding fail. By this time I was frustrated. The old runway in particular is excellent shorebird habitat, and the open wet woodlands growing up from, for lack of a better word, fields, elsewhere on the property shelter nesting Warbling Vireos , Orchard and Baltimore Orioles , Yellow Warblers , Common Yellowthroats , Tree Swallows , Song Sparrows , and other species.

Covenham Reservoir is the largest stretch of inland water in Lincolnshire and although it is used for various water sport activities during the year it is also used by many species of birds. Basically, this species is so dimwitted, it doesn’t know how to survive. Because, Pink Pigeons are not capable of doing the tasks required to create and bring up children of the species. The most common species are two types of honeyeater, the New Holland Honeyeater , a small black white and yellow species, and the larger Little Wattlebird. This species, the smallest, is endemic to North Island and should be fairly common in the wet lowland forests.
